Our History

1981

The inception of this business dates back to 1981, when my father Abdul Aziz Dhanani (having a wholesale grain and pulse business), provided assistance to my eldest brother, Munaf Dhanani, enabling him to establish a business in partnership with an individual involved in the production of wooden fridge stands.

Few years later

My other elder brother, Salim Dhanani joined the business, which led to expansion of supply of wooden fridge stands in the whole of South Gujarat spanning from Bharuch to Vapi

1987

A pivotal moment, as we secured our 1st project, crafting furniture for the prestigious Sayaji Hotels Vadodara, a 5 star establishment.

1989

I, Junaid Dhanani (current Founder), joined the business which spurred further growth. Responding to rising demand for metal fridge stands, we established special pipe bending dyes and a fabricating unit for production of versatile metal fridge stands, compatible with any fridge model of any company.

1995
  • A significant milestone, as we inaugurated “Furniture Systems”, Vadodara’s largest retail showroom, back then. Concurrently, we undertook projects for Sayaji Hotel Indore, and also manufactured sofas for the VIP lounge at Vadodara airport’s new terminal building. These projects accustomed us to time-bound and penalty based work, fostering efficiency in our operations.
  • Since 1995 onwards, we exited from the field of making fridge stands, and started making wooden furniture. We focused on implementing a streamlined production system, wherein the wooden structures of various designs were machine made in bulk, and then polished and cushioned as per customer’s requirements.
  • Additionally for polishing, we focused on offering a durable 3-coat pure melamine polish, which ensures long lasting results, and eliminates need for re-polishing even after 10-15 years of use.

1996
  • Further business expansion led to increased wood requirement, and so we set up a saw mill in Maneja, by the name “Zorin industries” under my administration.
  • Here, we used to saw Valsadi and Nigerian teak(saag) round wood logs, cut them into required sizes, naturally season them, and ensure moisture content before use in furniture.
  • Subsequently, due to cost considerations, operating our own saw mill became financially challenging. As a result, we switched to procuring pre-cut wood sizes, such as CP teak from suppliers in Indore, Raipur and Nagpur.

2002
The inception of Furniture House (second showroom)

The name Zorin industries was changed to “Furniture house” , initially established as a showroom retailing imported furniture from Malaysia along with laminated board items like computer tables, TV trolleys, etc.

2004

We inaugurated our 3rd showroom named “Furniture Plus” at O.P road in Vadodara, further expanding our presence and offerings.

2008

we had a family partition, leading to “Furniture House” coming on my part. Faced with a challenging decision on whether to trade or manufacture furniture, I opted for manufacturing, leveraging my 19 years of hands on experience in manufacturing.

Today

As of today, we own a godown with 2500 cft of ready wood stock, a furniture manufacturing unit, and a retail showroom.

Future plans

We are planning to set up a warehouse with 25000 cft of wood, expand the manufacturing capacity tenfold, and also have our own sawmill as well as wood seasoning plant.
